Black magic, or commonly referred to as dark magic, is a form of sorcery that draws on assumed malevolent powers. This type of magic is invoked when wishing to kill, steal, injure, cause misfortune or destruction, or for personal gain without regard to harmful consequences to others. In the Malay Culture, black magic is refers to magic that used to bring down others for self – interest. Based on the views of Muslim scholars, the practices of knowledge that is not based on the teachings of Islam can lead to shirk. This means that any form of magic is forbidden.
